Topic:  Name of Amiga demo that has 'never ends' effect at end.
* Posted by 4ppleseed Saturday 16 February 2008 - 15:19
Hiya, title pretty much says it all. I'm looking for the name of an old Amiga scene demo that once it got to the end it had one of those pixelated mutating zoomer effect (wut? ;) that slowly morphed and there was some text that said 'never ends' or something like that :)

Any help would be great thanks.

I think you're talking about that one:

Hi!

First of all thanks for the reply. I've check out the demo and it's not it. I see why you thought it might be this one as it has a looped up effect at the end.

The demo I'm after was probably a bit later than this one 92/93ish and maybe done by one of the more well known groups, as back then I only had access to the more circulated demos. At first I thought it was at the end of a Melon, Lemon, Sanity demo but can't seem to find it. Any more ideas?

These ones have some sort of fractals looping too:

What do you call a "pixelated mutating zoomer effect" anyway ?

It's not a fractal. I'm not an expert but I think what you do is get a raster image, zoom up real close and then cycle the colours. I think they used to call it a 'plasma effect' but don't quote me. So, anyhoo.. from my memory there is a nice morphing (brownish?) 'plasma effect' at the end of this demo, I think it's inside a box and I'm sure the words 'never ends' are on screen too and the music is pretty slow and trippy.. and the demo doesn't end it just stays on this effect and the music and effect loop.

But it was 15 years ago so my memory is probably distorting things a little!

Again, thanks for your help so far :)

I'd say a Plasma but they both look pretty similar to me :)
