| | Topic: | lost - a java 3d demonstration | |
| i had to do some java 3d coding for a moronic university assignment couple years ago. i always wondered why would anyone want to use such a slow and useless thing for doing actual demos or games or any sort of non academic stuff with it. next year they changed that class to opengl. the year before java3d it was vrml, so i guess atleast they are going somewhere usefull.
the point is, java3d no thanks.
| | hey.. cool to see you releaseing stuff. but what about including all necessary packages within your distribution package? not everyone has java 3d on his system, and really not everyone knows how to install it... | | |
| | thats probably right, but i don't know... doing an install package for a demo ^^°...nope^^... i think would be better to put a link in the nfo or on the page... that should be enough... | | |
| | including all necessary packages within the distribution would blow it up extremly. well, even directx based demos dont do this. imho nea is right, a link with some information about how to install java 3d should be added to the nfo-file and should be enough. | | |
| see the difference: you install windows -what most sceners do - and you get DX. you install java -jre, sdk, no problem- and you do not get java 3d...
But NEA's right, a link, and some quick instructions would do the job...
