| After a while, we have enabled again the permanent login. Also, password renewal got rewritten so that nobody can accidentelly (or with pure abusing in mind) renew passwords. A confirmation email will be sent with a URL where you can get a new password in case of a renewal request now.
If you notice any weird behaviour, bugs or such let me know.
| | When will this be turned back on? Its been off for a really long time now due to some unspecified "security problem". Having to login all the time is a pain. pouet remembers my id, why can't scene.org? | | |
| Short answer: "Soon".
Longer answer: When we get SSL for SceneID working the password retrieval will be enabled again. Also, we just got a dedicated person in our staff (hi Seffren!) for doing web programming, so you can expect more and faster updates on the website in the future.
| | Status update, please? I'd rather you just turn the remembering of the ID back on and live with the risk of this obscure security hole than tease me with the "remember for 1 year" checkbox which never works. | | |
| "Login for one year" should work again. I did some changes to the login system:
- Normal login expires in one hour from the last activity, session doesn't expire even if browser window is closed in between.
- Login for one year session should expire in one year from the login (for calendary reasons I can't confirm this working 100% before January 2007 :).
And yes, password renewals are still disabled - getting SSL for SceneID is in the works.
| Today we did some minor fixes to SceneID. Having special characters in your name or anywhere in your user data should work now much better.
And as always; If you notice any bugs, we're happy to hear about it.
