 | | Topic: | Australian 'Scene History - bullshit here.... | | | Please don't read this seriously or as a historical document, I'd like to swap wits and info with people who would like to share their ideas and knowledge of our computer scene.
If you think there was an actual scene at all after ACU hit their peak and split up and Teacher & Corporal faded... you're a looney =D lol, I thought there has been no real scene since we all bought PC's and ditched the bitch.
The best part of the scene for me was being an active swapper, It was by far my most rewarding experience in my entire life. Calling people use to be a lot of fun 2 b4 the Internetted.
Apart from the true efforts of Decay (all my own shared opinion which changes with growth), there just hasn't been the coding skill in this country to produce global demos of international standard/quality. I don't know anything about elite gfx guys here in AU either, ANSI on the other hand was huge init's day, that scene lasted till '96, There was plenty of elite music in Oz, Mick Rippon, Hans Van Vliet, Clef and some other loser called 18.o.d. who became more interested in Techno because the Rave scene was for him every reason to forget life and computers except for making the beats with the babies, FT2 forever, GUS RulE! Maybe the dreamtime spirit of this land makes music the more compelling of the seeker, Anyways, 4+ musicians do not usually form together to make a demo, something to do skills or sometin' or rather ;)
Which in turn makes these code ffolk who do program these days become even more self important with harvested obese egos which in the end equals no creative demos being produced due to a lack of community and team work, "Yeah I love the local people and it's scene" because your ego now believes you are finally of importance to people who would unfortunately usually encourage you and each other in the first place.
This has been some fragments and memoirs of a shady computer underground, Shadowrun!, Here we come.
Please take this chance here to hang by sharing your different experiences in the scene now and back when we crazy as a computer nut. he!:)lol
Talk openly about what made you originally convert to the gamer/demofreak you were then and it's change with maturity and so on, bladddy bla blah!
Correct me freely, :) There is no need for genuine abuse or bullying as that WILL be reported immediately. | | |
