*Syntax 200730 Jul 2007
The first installment of the Australian demo party Syntax 2007 proved to be one of down under's most successful demo parties in years. Party organizers cTrix, GaiaSword, and e64 were delighted with the atmosphere and the quality of prods. You can find the Syntax 07 releases and results here.

*Support from Pixar25 Jul 2007
As you know, Scene.org is a non-profit organisation and we depend on support to keep our servers and services running. We have a large number of institutions and individuals who sponsor us and we are very grateful for their support. Today we are adding a new name to our list of supporters, and even though we normally don't make a big deal about these things, we feel this one is worth a little extra mention.

Pixar Animation Studios decided that they wanted to support Scene.org with $4000. We appreciate this immensely, and look forward to talking to Pixar about possibilities to do outreach in the US as well.

Special thanks to Rick Sayre at Pixar for taking a personal interest in the demoscene!

*Weekend downtime22 Jul 2007
We experienced some downtime this weekend. For some reason the filesystem got corrupted a little bit, and our server decided to unmount it. The filesystem has been repaired without any problems and some code has been put in place to try to make sure this specific error doesn't happen again. We also used the downtime to install a new kernel and update the OS.

*Server downtime & upgrade15 Jun 2007
You might have noticed that for the past few days scene.org, pouet.net and all other services hosted by us have been unavailable for lengthy periods. This was caused by failing server bootdisks. Thanks to our external raid array, the important data was never at risk and I decided to retire the old server and migrate to a HP Proliant DL380 G4 which should give us substantially more processing power and stability. Sorry, for the downtime.
