| | During the easter weekend the legendary Gathering party was held again in the Vikingskipet Olympic Arena in Hamar, Norway. All releases and results can now be found in our party archive! |

| | I got a newspaper supplement from the English paper "The Independant On Sunday" where they have a huge article about the modern techno nation. They do however show their amazing lack of knowledge and stupidity by showing details of The Gathering and calling it the biggest gaming party currently held. I appreciate thet the Scene gets some publicity but I'd appreciate it even more if the journalists got their facts a little clearer. | | |
| | Hmmm... Out of curiosity, what is the largest gaming party being held right now? | | |
| The Gathering has definatly a majority of gamers and irc chatters attending. There is some scene people left, but many travel to other places where they don't have to listen to "damn you shot me" screamed from every corner all day long.
I myself got very angry when people got frustrated because they thought the demo comop's and such where stupid, and no need for.
The Gathering is big, and there naturaly should be room for everyone, but it is not a scene party or great demo party anymore at least in my view!
| I beg to differ. No, it's not a sceners-only party, but the fact of the matter is that the entertainment and competitions are dominated by the demoscene. The gaming-compos have almost no focus (the game-area is even located in the far end of the Vikingship, away from the stage).
I wish more people would go to TG instead of just mouthing their opinions which they inherited from others who went to TG in 2000 or something..
